The search for a 15-year-old boy resumes this morning along the Fraser River.
It’s believed the boy was swimming in the river near the Hudson’s Bay Wetland Nature Park yesterday when he was swept under. His friend reported the incident to the RCMP.
Prince George Search and Rescue was called out just after 4 p.m., with 19 personnel searching from Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park along Lansdowne Road. A helicopter flew down to Hixon, while jet and inflatable boats scoured the river. Today’s jet boat search will run as far south as the Fort George Canyon area.
The missing teen is described as 5’5″ and 120 lbs with short blonde hair. Mounties say he was last seen wearing blue jeans, gold and black DC-brand shoes and a black t-shirt.
