An RCMP dive team scoured the Fraser River Sunday, but didn’t find a missing teen.
Assisted by members of Prince George Search and Rescue, mounties are looking for a 15-year-old boy who was was swept underwater near the Hudson’s Bay Wetland Nature Park around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon. He was swimming with a friend who reported to incident to the RCMP.
Dale Bull, search manager with PGSAR, says “three or four” search and rescue members were involved today.
“This is still very much a missing persons investigation. The RCMP is the lead agency and we’ll continue to assist where we can,” Bull says.
Crews again searched the river south of Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park. Efforts earlier this weekend included a helicopter flying as far south as Hixon, along with a jet boat search between the park and the Fort George Canyon area.
A description of the teen released by the RCMP says he’s 5’5″ and 120 lbs with short blonde hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, gold and black DC-brand shoes and a black t-shirt.
