The Prince George Spruce Kings were left feeling snakebit, falling 5-3 in BCHL exhibition play against the Vernon Vipers.
The visitors held a 2-0 lead following the first period at the Prince George Coliseum. After Braiden Epp moved the Spruce Kings within one, Alex Stoley made an end-to-end play, knotting the game up at 2-2. The Vipers added a third goal before the end of the second frame. Corey Hoffman netted a late-game powerplay goal for the Kings, but it wasn’t enough as Prince George fell 5-3.
The Spruce Kings get a shot at redemption tonight at 7, when the home-and-home series shifts to Vernon.
