The Prince George Cougars have dealt 1997-born forward Cal Babych to the Prince Albert Raiders.
Babych was brought in from the Calgary Hitmen in October of last year. He proceeded to dress in 51 games, registering seven goals, five assists and 16 penalty minutes. In 93 career games, he has 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points. In return, Prince George receives a seventh round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
“With so many of our players eligible to return this season, it meant making some tough decisions, especially with our group of forwards,” Cougars GM Todd Harkins says in a news release. “This trade provides Cal with a great opportunity to contribute key minutes to a young Prince Albert Raiders team. We appreciate his hard work and commitment to the Prince George Cougars and we wish him well moving forward.”
The Cougars play their only home game of the preseason tonight at 7, hosting the Kamloops Blazers.
