The final numbers aren’t in yet, but the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation says more than $300,000 was raised in the 22nd annual Festival of Trees. 116 decorated trees and 53 wreaths adorned the Civic Centre over the ten day event. The festival is the larges annual fundraiser.
Foundation C.E.O. Judy Neiser says the event was an overwhelming success. “No amount of words can express how thankful we are for the support we received for this event,” said Neiser. “We are so very grateful to our sponsors, donors, volunteers and everyone who attends this event to ultimately strengthen healthcare in the North.”
Neiser credits hundreds of volunteers who donated thousands of hours for making the event successful. Friday’s Gala event raised more than $300,000 alone. Several other events were sold out including Dance & Dine Among the Pine, Houg Slaney Fashion Show, Northland Auto Group Family Brunch, T.D. Teddy Bear Breakfast and Scotiabank Senior’s Tea.
The Foundation will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2016 with a 23rd edition of the Festival of Trees.
