Like many Canadian cities, Prince George is getting ready for the arrival of Syrian Refugees.
A fundraiser is set to take place Sunday at the Exploration Place. Between 3:00 and 5:00 pm admission will be by donation with all proceeds going to the group group “PG Citizens for Refugee Support”. Cash and cheque donations will also be accepted. The event will also host a silent auction and a community information table.
Cash and cheque donations can also be dropped off during the week at the IMSS office at 1270 – 2nd Avenue.
On Friday at a funding announcement at the IMSS, MLA Shirley Bond said five privately sponsored refugees are expected to arrive in Prince George before Christmas.
