Christmas Day is less than two weeks away and the Prince George community is hard at work, making sure the less fortunate members of our community have a happy Christmas.
Volunteers from the BC Ambulance service were outside the Parkwood Save-on-Foods this weekend collecting food donations for Saint Vincent De Paul Society.
This is the ninth year the BCAS has hosted its “Red and White Hunger Fight Event”.
They had a record breaking day Saturday, collecting 96 banana boxes of food.
BCAS’s Rob Pritchard says year after year he’s blown away by the generosity of people in Prince George.
“The amount of people that donate, almost every second or third person that come out of the save-on are donating something. We just had a gentleman donate a full grocery cart with 3 turkeys, 2 hams and all the fixings to feed probably 3 or 4 families. And he took nothing home for himself.”
If you want to give to the Saint Vince de Paul Society you can drop off donations at their third avenue location.
