It wasn’t the holiday a Prince George woman was hoping for.
Late Christmas night, she got a phone call about her Dad in Fort St. John who had been severely attacked by two dogs and was being flown to a hospital in Edmonton.
But Prince George’s Sheryl Elgie says her father is in good spirits after surviving the attack, despite knowing he could lose his left arm.
Sixty-six-year-old Robin Elgie and his girlfriend, 51-year-old Wendy Baker were mauled by a pair of canines who broke into their Fort Saint John home. The dogs first attacked the couples cat and then turned their attention to Baker and Elgie.
Sheryl Elgie says doctors are trying to restore blood flow to her father’s damaged limbs while he recovers in the intensive-care unit of an Edmonton hospital.
A GoFundMe Page set up earlier this week has already surpassed its 10-thousand-dollar fundraising goal and hit 15-thousand dollars.
CKPG’s Victoria Levy spoke with the man’s daughter about his road to recovery.
