The Prince George Coliseum will soon have a new name, “Rolling Mix Concrete Arena”. Rolling Mix Concrete has partnered with the City of Prince George and the Prince George Spruce Kings to buy the naming rights to the building.
As per the agreement, Rolling Mix will provide as much as 30-thousand dollars for the Spruce Kings on an annual basis. The company will also supply the hockey club with an annual supply of concrete for the its Lottery House.
The arrangement will help with the continuing maintenance of the coliseum, which was built in the mid 1950’s.
President of the Spruce Kings, Tom Bohmer says it’s great to have Rolling Mix Concrete on board as a community partner.
“It’s important for us for our organization to move forward and be able to survive over the next 15-20 years or so. We have to reach out and find creative ways to generate revenue. Hats off to the city for letting us take steps to do that and partnering with us. And obviously rolling mix hopefully we can make this partnership more value than what they’re paying for. I hope that we can do whatever we can to show that a partnership with our organization is one that has value for the business but also the local community as well.
The agreement is effective immediately and will be presented to Mayor and Council at Monday night’s meeting.
