Highway 97 is still down to single lane alternating traffic after a serious crash late last night, involving a semi and a passenger vehicle on Highway 97 just north of McLeese Lake. Both vehicles burst into flames.
Due to the severity of damage to the passenger vehicle, police were not able to determine the number of occupants. No word on the cause of the crash.
Meanwhile, Mounties are investigating a second crash that happened last night on Highway 16 near Noonla Road. Just before 9:00 pm Vanderhoof RCMP received a call about a head on collision between a Suburan and a pickup truck. Both drivers suffered serious, but non life threatening injuries.
Alcohol and speed are not being considered a factor as to why one of the vehicles crossed over the centre line.
