Gone are the days of public library’s being just for checking out books.
The library is now home to five different kinds of technology kits. It’s all part of push to help today’s children and youth stay computer literate.
Children’s librarian Kaitlyn Vecchio says with different kits you can make everything from play-doh bongo drums to robots.
“We’ve implemented these technology kits into the library because the Prince George public library really wants to make technology accessible to everyone in the community. So we’ve created five different kits. We’ve got the finch robot, the makey-makey, squishy kits, raspberry pie and circuit boards. Technology is in everybody’s lives now a days but not everyone has access to technology so we’re wanting to provide that at the library.”
The kits are available to take home, you just need to be a library member.
