After numerous break-ins to clothing donation bins, AiMHi is appealing to the public for help.
Over the last four months several of its clothing donation bins have been damaged. Not only are the bins being vandalized, but clothing is being fished out.
The organization relies on the money it makes from selling clothing donations to Value Village.
The organizations Joy Mangell says that by alerting the public AiMHi hopes to put a stop to the problem.
“If you see anything happening in the community please let the RCMP know. Call us at AiMHi. We want people to be aware that it is a problem. It is cutting into our revenue here, helping our employment training programs and other programs at AiMHi. So it a loss for us and it is also doing damage. It’s costing us a lot to fix the lots and the actual bins.”
Meanwhile, AiMHi does have donation bins available. If a business is be interested in placing one of the bins on its property, contact the AiMHi.
