Whether it’s welding in the mechanical labs or cooking up a storm in the kitchen, students from Prince George and Quesnel showed off their skills Wednesday for Skills Competition Day at the CNC.
The event aims to reward students for their hard work in trade, while giving them a chance to network and learn from leaders in their industry.
The competitors from high school and post secondary levels competed in this regional competition through a partnership with Skills Canada BC and Skills Compétences Canada.
Events included welding, cabinet making, professional cooking, electrical, and CNET.
All participants were given a project and a certain amount of time to finish it, before having their creation judged.
The winners of this competition and 12 other regional events held across the province now head to the provincial championships in Abbottsford on April 13th.
