Police are investigating an overnight accident in the Hart that killed one person and left three others injured.
At 12:45 am Saturday morning, RCMP got a report of a roll over collision on Highway 97 near Austin Road.
Investigators believe five people were in the pick up truck when it was travelling south bound with excessive speed on the highway between Handlen and Austin Road.
RCMP believe the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled into the north bound ditch.
The 22 year old male driver was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. However, the four passengers were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle.
A 21 year old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. A 20 year old female was taken to the University Hospital with serious, but non-life thretening injuries. The two remaining 19 year old female passengers suffered minor injuries.
Alcohol is believed to have played a role in the accident, which in the initial stages of investigation by the Prince George RCMP.
