Prince George RCMP is investigating what it is calling an unusual break and enter. At around noon on Sunday, RCMP were called out to a residence in Miworth. A homeowner returned home to find a woman inside her house.
The woman, Philicity Lafreniere, a 25 year old Prince George resident, fled in a pickup truck. She was tracked down on an ice flow on the Nechako River where she had started a fire. According to police Lafreniere was trying to destroy the items she had stolen.
Local boaters then offered to transport the woman and RCMP to a safer location on the river. Lafreniere was resisted arrest, but was taken without incident. She has been charged with:
-Break & Enter to Commit
-Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
-Mischief Under $5000
-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 (2 counts)
Lafreniere was set to appear in court today.
