Consultants are at work this week, doing an improvement study on Pine Valley Golf Course. A Vancouver-based consultant will look at ways to deal with a failing irrigation system. It will also tackle the feasibility of re-establishing a driving range at the course.
“A course like Pine Valley, which caters to a lot of novice and beginner gofers, a driving range is a great asset,” explains Doug Hofstede, Community Coordinator with the City’s Community Services Department.
The City matched $8,000 in funding from the Northern Development Initiatives Trust to conduct the study.
The hope is to have meetings with the relevant parties, such as the Friends of Pine Valley, done early next month with a report back to Council this summer.
