As the Cougars prepare to open their first round playoff series in Seattle Friday night, leading scorer Chase Witala is celebrating another award. He’s been named to the WHL Western Conference’s second all star team as a forward.
Witala finished the year with 40 goals and 39 assists. The 20 year old set team records for goals and points in a career. The Prince George minor hockey product has scored 120 goals and 239 points over six seasons with the Cougars.
Coach Mark Holick is pleased to see other coaches and general managers around the league recognize Witala with the selection. “He is the type of player who in every way possible personifies what it means to represent the Prince George Cougars and the City of Prince George, and he is very deserving of this honor.”
