Slash burning outside of city limits seems to be the cause for the smokey conditions that are being felt around Prince George.
Yesterday afternoon Prince George Fire Rescue were sent out to the western part of the city and found half a dozen slash piles burning 5 km west of city boundaries on Takla Forest Road.
Since the fire was outside of city limits, the city crews were not able to deal with the situation.
Prince George Fire Crews alerted the Fraser Fort George Regional District of the situation.
According to Prince George Fire Rescue the University Hospital has been busy with people having trouble breathing.
