It was a busy Saturday at the Nechako Bottle Depot in Prince George as people donated their empty cans and bottles to support the Ness Lake Bible Camp.
Program Director for the camp, Dave Horton, says he estimates about $4,000 will go towards the Camper Sponsorship Fund to lessen the burden families have to pay when they send their kids to camp. “We want to make sure that camp is accessible to every kid in the North,” said Horton. “To come out and be a camper is huge, kids come out and they’re independent of their families for a week and so they get to choose their activities and do things that they wouldn’t get to do anywhere else.”
Volunteers spent the day organizing and sorting cans with the bottle depot matching all donations.
