For touring bands, Prince George is the perfect stop, says music promoter Danny Bell. He says the city is fast becoming a hotspot for live entertainment. According to Bell, a band can make more money doing a gig here than in Vancouver, where it’s harder to stand out. Bell started Mad Loon Entertainment, to help his musician friends book local gigs. He has a full summer of live music planned at the Legion. For more details on upcoming concerts, follow Mad Loon on facebook.
Jason Luke is also trying to spice up the local entertainment scene, with the Metro Comedy Circuit. This Saturday, he’s bringing 2 standup comedians to town, for an evening of food and laughter. Nationally celebrated comics Erica Sigurdson and Dylan Rhymer will be performing at the Greek Hall. His long-term goal is to create a comedy club downtown. Tickets to this Saturday’s event are available at the Carmel Restaurant, or online. The show starts at 8pm.
