The City is hosting a workshop Thursday to focus on bringing communities together to address social change. It’s called “Achieving Large Scale Change Through Collective Impact.” Facilitated by “Tamarack” – an institute to engage communities – the group is looking at how to empower citizens and work with the existing infrastructure to build a community capacity.
Vice President of Tamarack, Liz Weaver says she’s noticed already a lot of connections in the Prince George community. “It’s really now taking all of that energy and saying if we want to eliminate homelessness, if we want to deal with the issue of poverty, if we want to really have vibrant neighbourhoods, how do we engage the whole capacity of the community to drive towards outcomes.”
The workshop goes from 7 p.m. to 9p.m in the Bob Harkins Branch of the Prince George Pubic Library.
