Many motorcycle enthusiasts like to hit the road with their friends in the summertime, but for this group of riders, it means so much more.
The 6th Annual Northern BC Motorcycle Ride For Dad is raising awareness and funds in support of the fight against Prostate Cancer. In total, 104 motorcyclists took part this year, raising $11,000.
Charles Brunette organized the very first ride in Prince George after losing a close friend battling Prostate Cancer. “It’s a highly curable disease and one in seven men will be affected by this disease in their lifetime,” Brunette said. “It’s very important for them to get checked and get checked early,” he said.
The Ride For Dad has grown to 41 chapters across Canada raising more than $18,000,000 for Prostate Cancer research. Over the last six years, more than $80,000 has been raised locally in Prince George with all funds staying in the city.
