This summer, Two Rivers Gallery will hit the road! “The Night Side of Life: A Personal Iconography” features the work of local musician and artist Jose Delgado-Guevara. Jose is best known as music director of the Prince George Symphony Orchestra. But he says visual art is similar to musical performance; in both, he uses his body to create patterns. The collection of 12 pieces is inspired by his personal experience of illness. Mackenzie is the first of several northern communities to see the collection of drawings. The public is invited to pop by and see the work July 5; the opening gala is happening at Notable Impressions (Mackenzie Art Centre), from 7-8:30. Sunday July 10, Delgado-Guevara will be back in Mackenzie for a workshop. He will lead students in drawing unconventional self-portraits using abstract forms. The cost is $10; for more information or to register call 250-997-5818 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The exhibition will be on display in Mackenzie until July 27.
