The city has been around for a hundred years and now, and so has its first source of news. The Prince George Citizen was founded in 1916 by a colourful individual. Lucy Taylor fled Chicago to avoid embezzlement charges, later going on to be elected mayor of Vancouver eight different times. A flag with the Prince George Citizen logo was hoisted at City Hall this morning to commemorate the paper’s 100th anniversary. The flag will move to Mr. PG next week.
