Police Recover Stolen Bike

Prince George, BC, Canada / CKPG News

Charges are pending against one person so far, in the theft of a mountain bike. Early yesterday morning, arrested a 26-yer-old man who had the stolen $1500 bicycle. It was missing a few parts, and the paint and decals were being removed. Police say the bike was stolen on Wednesday July 13, around 2:30pm; the young owner left it in front of a fast food restaurant at Domano Blvd and Highway 16. Officers believe it was taken by a First Nations woman in her mid-twenties. At the time, she was wearing a long sleeve red jacket and blue jeans, with a black backpack. The suspect rode away on a lime green BMX bike. Police are reminding bike owners to buy the best lock they can afford, and always lock up their ride. Prince George RCMP has a project underway called 529 Garage. Volunteers collect serials numbers, make, model, and photos, which are uploaded to a central database. That way when stolen property is recovered, it can be returned to its rightful owner. There are several registration events coming up:

  • Monday July 18, 5-8pm, Canadian Tire
  • Wednesday July 20, 5-7pm, Otway
  • Sunday July 24, 12-5pm, Pidherny
  • Monday July 25, 5-8pm, Hart Drugs/Home Hardware
