Two internationally-renowned artists are in Prince George Thursday presenting their most recent work called “Dear Lorde” at the Two Rivers Gallery.
The 30 minute short film made by Emily Duke and Cooper Battersby has been presented at major film festivals across Europe and won first prize at the European Media Arts Festival. The artists from Syracuse, New York are conducting a talk and showcasing this film about a young girl turning 15 years old and the struggles she’s encountering.
It’s something Duke says she has always related to. “The things that she was worrying about when she’s 15 are basically the same things I was worrying about when I was 15 so a lot of it is sort of motivated, it’s also motivated sort of by a desire to see more girls and women represented, I’m really interested in stories about girls and women, we get more than we’re used to, but we still don’t get enough.”
The event begins at 7:30 Thursday evening.
