The Prince George RCMP have four people in custody following a break and enter to a business early Saturday morning.
Around 4 a.m., police received a report of a break and enter in progress at a commercial business on Cowart Road. Upon arrival, a pick-up truck fled the building and rammed into a police car. The suspect driving the pick-up caused severe damage to one of the truck’s tires, but still managed to take police on a car chase.
It took about 20 minutes before the suspect vehicle was stopped after it collided at a low speed with a parked car on Pioneer Avenue. Four occupants of the pick-up, two men and two women, were taken into custody with the assistance of the Police Dog Service.
RCMP say the two men are both from Fort St James, and are known to local police. As a result of the incident, two police officers were transported to hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The Forensic Identification Section along with an RCMP collision reconstructionist have been called in to assist with the investigation. Police are continuing to investigate and will provide more information once it becomes available.
