A brand-new mural is being painted at 4th and Brunswick, showing seniors playing bingo, racing wheelchairs, and even break dancing! The work is filling a once-empty wall at the Senior Citizens Activity Centre. Airbrush artist Greg “Grinch” Gislason has actually included the faces of some local seniors, including Angie Fretter! She says the Centre has been receiving many positive comments already about the project; her favourite part is the bingo player celebrating his big win! The artist has enjoyed having lunch with the regulars at the Senior Citizen Activity Centre, and Gislason has even become a member himself! You don’t have to be over 65. The mural project is funded by the province’s New Horizons grant, which gives money to projects that help beautify the community. The mural is already coming together, but will be officially unveiled next month.
