Many Prince George television sets were on at 6 AM, as our very own Alyx Treasure competed in the high-jump at the Rio Olympics. Coming into the Games, her personal best was a leap of 1.93 metres. After two failed attempts of 1.94, the PG Track & Field Club product had to dig deep for a chance to advance. On her third and final attempt, Treasure cleared the bar, and leapt the highest she has ever jumped – 1.94 metres. This was good enough to secure her a berth in Saturday’s medal round, and CBC caught up with the 24 year old after her incredible leap.
