If you’re looking for something to do on this wet and cloudy weekend, then perhaps an evening downtown is in the cards?
The Black Donkey Cafe has organized the Saturday Night Bazaar. The initiative is bringing local vendors and businesses together in the cafe’s parking lot from 7 until midnight. Event Coordinator, Serena Scherer, says she’s overwhelmed by the support she has received. “We have 33 vendors and some of them are sharing tables because we have absolutely no more space in that parking lot.”
At the tables, vendors are invited to sell items from jewellery, clothes, furniture, art, and much more. Scherer mentions the event also includes live entertainment. “We have a magician, belly dancers, and live bands playing,” she said. “It’s a really cool community opportunity and the whole community has come together.”
Not to mention, it’s capped off by a big donation. “It’s Party-time even rentals had given us a discount over the phone and they surprised us with a full donation of the tables, it was super nice,” Scherer said.
The Black Donkey Cafe is located at 1085 3rd Avenue.
