The Northland Dodge Men’s Baseball League pitted the best players in the league against one another this weekend, but it wasn’t just about the friendly competition. All proceeds from the game went to five year-old Olive Frost, a local girl who is battling Leukemia.
Olivia’s Mother, Amanda Frost says she’s overwhelmed by the support. “It’s been absolutely amazing seeing how much support we have been getting from not only friends and family, but a whole community of people that I don’t personally know,” she said. “It’s really heartwarming to know that we live in such an amazing community.”
Of course it wouldn’t be official without Olivia’s sister, Calista throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. She fired it right down the middle with a big smile on her face.
Event Organizer, Paul Wilson hopes for more than $5,000 in donations. “Their story is quite heartbreaking and both being parents and one of the parent’s having to stay in Vancouver with Olivia, so we’re hoping this will ease the stress,” he said.
