Traffic on highways throughout the province are expected to increase as motorists hit the road for the last long-weekend of summer.
The North District RCMP are reminding you to drive with care. Officers will be on high alert using radar guns to track cars going above the speed limit. You’re advised to plan ahead and make sure your vehicle is in good operating condition for all weather conditions.
Sgt. Al Steinhauser with the North District RCMP says traffic will be heavy all weekend. “Slow it down, get the rest that you need and prepare, that’s the biggest thing,” he said. “Don’t be in a rush, you’re not going to get there any quicker doing a 150, we will take your vehicle no questions asked, whether you have your kids in there or not, we will get you back to town, but it might not be the town you want to be at.”
