UNBC Men's Soccer Team Gets Much Needed First Win

You can put it in the win column!

The UNBC Men’s Timberwolves Soccer Team finally got the result they were looking for on the pitch Saturday afternoon defeating the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack by a score of 3-2.

The action picked up in the 13th minute with a strike from Timberwolves Captain, Tofa Fakunle. Just 20 minutes later, Fakunle would get the double as he connected on a penalty kick to put UNBC up by two goals going into the second half.

The T-Wolves continued to press on, going up 3-0 thanks to a goal by Francesco Bartolillo. He missed a penalty kick, but quickly cleaned up the rebound in the 70th minute.

Thompson Rivers would make it interesting though. Ryan Glanville got one back for TRU off a scramble in the six yard box and put home another goal in added time. Unfortunately for the Wolf Pack it wasn’t enough to make a come-back.

Both teams will square off again in Kamloops on Sunday for a 1pm kick-off.
