The UNBC Timberwolves Athletics Program is looking for support with the Adopt-A-Timberwolf initiative. The program gives businesses and locals within the community an opportunity to sponsor an athlete for the season. The sponsorship benefits the athletes financially, whether they are on the field and courts or going to classes. The costs aleviated with Adopt-A-Timberwolf include: non-conference travel, uniforms, meal money for road trips, equipment and assistance with education costs.
“It really helps school wise being able to fly places and not taking a bus everywhere and missing a lot more school is super helpful.” UNBC Women’s Soccer Player Madison Emmond said.
However, the benefits do not stop after the game or when the players hit the books. The UNBC Timberwolves make their mark in giving back to the community.
“We coach a lot of the younger youth programs and the kids just love it.” UNBC Women’s Basketball Player Emily Aase said, “It feels so great to out there and they’re just smiling.”
Aase says as an athletics program it is great to be involved with the community and their sponsors.
Locals can register to Adopt-A-Timberwolf online at the UNBC website.
