British Columbians will be given a gun amnesty for the month of October. RCMP are asking people who have restricted and prohibited firearms to turn them over to police, to be sure these weapon never make it into the hands of criminals. Police departments in British Columbia are joining forces and participating in the BC Gun Amnesty program during the upcoming month of October. The amnesty will also include prohibited weapons and ammunition. Past amenities conducted in 2006 and 2013 yielded more than 5,000 firearms, over 500 handguns, and two machine guns.
