The implementation of the new school curriculum is causing some uncertainty for teachers. Many are unsure how to grade their students, and according to President of the Teachers’ Association, Richard Giroday, some are also wondering if they will receive necessary resources. “Science teachers have talked to us about real concerns of resources. Whether there will be funds to purchase the resources when they become available; because they are not available right now and that’s a real challenge.”
The School District Board of Education will be hosting a Curriculum Implementation Day on Friday to give teachers the opportunity to voice their concerns. They will also meet with the Learning Innovations Department to discuss how to best meet the new education standards.
