The Prince George Cougars can put yet another game in the win column.
The Cats now sit a perfect 6-0 on the season, making this their best start in franchise history. Prince George completed a third consecutive double header sweep Saturday by defeating the Kelowna Rockets 3-0 on home ice.
Nick McBride flawlessly made 29 saves to secure the shutout victory between the pipes, while Jared Bethune, Max Martin, and Aaron Boyd would all add goals in the winning effort.
After a first period that went scoreless, Boyd got on the score sheet, lighting the lamp by snapping a quick shot past Rockets Goalie Brodan Salmond. Yan Khomenko assisted on the play.
The Cats went into the third period with the lead for the sixth consecutive time this season. Martin would score the insurance goal just four minutes into the frame, while Bethune would put the nail in the coffin with just a few minutes remaining in the game.
Bethune is now the league leader in points with five goals and five assists. He also holds the best plus/minus rating at +10.
After playing four games in just five nights, the Cougars will now take a few days off before facing off against the Vancouver Giants at home on Friday.
