School District 57  Resumes Normal Operations  ( Updated )

All District 57 Prince George schools have resumed normal operations after RCMP determined recent reports of online threats to area high schools this morning, were non credible , and in some cases, outdated . Police are continuing to investigate and have an increased presence around schools.


There are more disruptions at Prince George schools today.  Senior Administration was advised to secure all Secondary Schools in Prince George as most staff and students were on their way to school or arriving at school. Secondary Prince George Schools were instructed to move into Code Red, but shortly after 9 a.m. they were told to move into a Code Yellow response. Students will remain in their classrooms with closed doors, and outside doors locked. Staff will monitor exits; as there will only be supervised entrance and exit of students and parents if necessary. 

The School District says it is working with Prince George RCMP to provide a safe environment for students and staff within the city.  The District says it will be making a public announcement later today, and is asking the public to remain calm while it deals with the situation.

Schools across Prince George were locked down Thursday following an online threat made towards schools in Prince George. Two male teens were arrested in connection with the threat.  One was held overnight by police while another was released.
