Spruce Kings Score First, But Can't Hold On Against Wenatchee

Against a team that had beat the Spruce Kings 10-1 in a previous competition this season, it was Prince George who would strike first in another losing effort away to the Wenatchee Wild Friday night.

Despite a quick goal from Tanner Campbell, Wenatchee would score four unanswered goals to take the 4-1 win. Just over a minute after Campbell’s goal, the Wild’s Mathew Baker slipped one past Tavin Grant to even the score.

Colin Burston would tip one home in the second period to put Wenatchee up 2-1, while insurance goals came from Charlie Combs and Sam Morton in the third.

Wenatchee now improves to (7-0-1-0) on the season, while Prince George falls to (3-6-0-1).

Both teams meet again in Wenatchee Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
