As snow fell onto the North Cariboo Senior Soccer League Field Sunday afternoon, so did the UNBC Women’s Soccer Team who lost a close one to the University of Alberta Pandas.
The Timberwolves played out to a scoreless first 45 minutes, before the Pandas were able to break the deadlock in the second half.
Sydney Daines was able to break loose for a breakway opportunity in the 56th minute against Timberwolves Goalkeeper Lianna Toopitsin. Daines made no mistake shooting the ball into the bottom left corner from 18 yards out. Karissa McNutt assisted on the play.
Toopitsin made six saves on seven shots from the University of Alberta, while Cassie Bazzarelli was able to save all three of the shots that tested her.
UNBC now falls to (0-10-0) on the season, while UofA improves to (6-2-2).
