A road trip visit with the Wenatchee Wild will leave the Prince George Spruce Kings with yet another pair of losing efforts.
The Wild dominated the Spruce Kings Saturday night with another convincing 8-1 victory. Troy Conzo got on the board early for the Wild, firing a wrister from the right circle over the glvoe hand over Prince George Goalie, Tavin Grant. Conzo would add a second goal to put Wenatchee on top 2-0 after the first period.
Prince George battle back in the second to make things interesting as Hunter Luhmann put back a rebound chance to make it 2-1, but trouble staying disciplined would get the best of the Spruce Kings. Wenatchee capitalized on the powerplay with a goal from Brian Williams and Charlie Combs would later score his league high 11th goal of the season.
Conzo completed his second hat-trick performance of the year with another goal in the third period. Two more goals were added by Mathew Baker and Colin Burston to seal the 8-1 win.
This is now the fifth meeting between both clubs this season with all contests going in Wenatchee’s favour.
Prince George will return home to host Alberni Valley on October 14 and Powell River on October 16.
