Jayden Wong has a huge heart, especially for those less fortunate. While shopping with his mother at Superstore, he came across a man holding a sign that read “homeless and hungry”. After he and his mother, Megan Wall, bought food for the man, Jayden began to think of other ways he could help out. First, he took $130 of his own money to Value Village to buy warm winter clothing. Then he teamed up with his Grade 3/4 teacher at Westwood Elementary, Mrs. Brown, to launch the “Have a Heart” campaign. For the month of October, the school is collecting jackets, mittens, hats, blankets, non-perishable food items and money for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Everyone is welcome to drop by the school and donate to the campaign. Jayden is a reminder that anyone can make a difference in their community.
