The Prince George Fire Fighters Union Local 1372 is hoping their calendar campaign catches fire. 16 of the local heroes who battle blazes in our city are baring a little more skin in this year. Prince George Burn Fund Rep, Bryan Burleigh, says “It’s a little different than the last version we did. The last one was quite family-friendly and highlighted the services and skills we offer to the city. This one is a more traditional firefighter beefcake style calendar.”
The launch of the 2017 Fire Fighters Calendar is set for October 22nd at the Golf & Curling Club. Vice President of the British Columbia Fire Fighters Association, Fred Wilkinson, says “The funds from this calendar go to support the burn building in Vancouver that opened in March. It was probably a 15 year commitment that firefighters made to build this facility.”
Last year the campaign raised over $20,000 for the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund. This year, the firefighters union is hoping to reach $30,000.
