There are only few days left were British Columbians will be given a weapons amnesty for the month of October. Resident are asked to turn over weapons to RCMP with no questions asked. According Prince George RCMP the local weapons amnesty started off strong and then tapered off. The amnesty also includes prohibited weapons and ammunition. Past amenities conducted in 2006 and 2013 yielded more than 5,000 firearms, over 500 handguns, and two machine guns.
