13th Annual Rotten Pumpkin Festival

Hundreds of people got rid of their Halloween pumpkins in a unique way. Late Tuesday afternoon, Prince George residents got see their pumpkins catapulted across the Exploration Place parking lot at the 13th annual Rotten Pumpkin Festival.

Money raised from the event will go to a worthy cause. Each pumpkin cost a toonie to fling, and all proceeds will go to children’s programing at the museum. All staff pitched in to shovel up the all the pumpkin guts, and for the first time, a few residents collected seeds for their chickens.

C.E.O. of The Exploration Place, Tracy Calogheros, says “You can’t go wrong when you are finished with Halloween, you come on down here and we send those Pumpkins off to the compost heap in style.”
