Disruptions Coming Next Year For Masich Place

The City is closing the Masich Place Stadium for the winter on Monday, as it does every year.
But next year’s season will be different.
While the final plans for upgrades are not quite finalized, a new track will be laid down next summer, artificial turf will be installed and, potentially, part of the berm will be removed.
But the upgrades will impede use of the facility.
“The plan right now is to start the season as normal. We’ll open up the facility in early May, late April, explains Sean LeBrun, the City’s Supervisor of Parks. “And, as soon as whoever is going to be doing the work is ready to go, we will shut the facility down for the rest of the summer.”
He says the City will be working with the different organizations who frequently use that facility, like School District 57 and the Family Y, to make alternate arrangements.
