Council Considers Winter Games Legacy Projects

The Ice Oval Society went before City Council looking for support and walked away happy after having its $3.7 million refrigeration project was added to Council’s 2018 unfunded capital plan. The Society plans to raise half a million dollars itself for the project. And a request for $60 thousand for Tourism Prince George to bid to host the Men’s Under 21 Pan-American Cup in 2017 has gone to city staff to see where the money could come from. Both are, indirectly, legacies of the Canada Winter Games.
