UNBC’s Edzerza Wins Aboriginal Sport Award

UNBC Men’s soccer player Cheona Edzerza received a big honour this week, as he was awarded the 2016 Premier’s Award for Aboriginal Youth Excellence in Sport. Edzerza was one of eight First Nations athletes in the Northeast to be recognized with the award. The 22-year-old UNBC striker had three goals and two assists for the Timberwolves this season, and is also recognized for his work on youth camps on local reserves. In total, 47 British Columbian First Nations athletes from 6 regions will receive the award, so a huge congrats to Cheona.
