Tourism Pilot Project Launched

Tourism Prince George has launched a four-month campaign targeting Northerners,  those not afraid to venture outside in the winter months. The “Stay and Play” campaign hopes to attract people from within a four-hour drive to the city to stay for at least a couple of nights.
“We are looking forward to encouraging regional visitors to come to Prince George during winter months when they might not have thought to come,” says Tourism Prince George CEO Erica Hummel.
Ten hotels have gotten on board and will be handing out special key chains with coupons for 18 different organizations, like restaurants and adventure packs.
The pilot program will run through to the end of February and, if it is found to be a success, the program will be launched in the summer months and the net will be cast wider, to attract people from the Lower Mainland, Alberta and even Washington.
