Brendan-Guhle-ELCIn front of 5300 fans at the CN Centre, the Cougars overcame some penalty woes to double up the Prince Albert Raiders, 4-2. Ty Edmonds was solid in net, stopping 30 of the 32 shots he faced to improve to 13-2-1 on the season, while the Cats moved to 17-4-2.

Postgame, the Cougars made a splash, acquiring Raiders star defenseman Brendan Guhle in exchange for Max Martin, Kolby Johnson, a 2018 1st round pick, and a 2019 3rd round pick. The 6’3 defender is a 2nd round pick (51st overall) of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2014 draft. The 1997 born rearguard has twice represented the Western Hockey League in the CHL/Russia series, and has four points in six career AHL games. He will be in the Cougars lineup Tuesday, when the Cats welcome the #1 ranked team in the CHL, the Regina Pats.
